The BRCGS Storage and Distribution (S&D) Standard was specifically designed for logistics
operations dealing with food, packaging, and consumer products. Developed to cover all
activities that may affect the safety, legality, quality and integrity of stored and distributed
products, and any additional contracted services that may be offered by storage and
distribution companies.
The storage and/or distribution operations to which the Standard is applied can occur at any
point in the distribution chain, from primary production to retail. It is completely flexible as
companies can implement the full scope or a scope relevant to their operation, for example
storage only, distribution only or transport only.
