Sbcert is a certification body that has been operating for over 20 years with a commitment to monitoring each certification step from primary production, to industry and retail, ensuring that these sectors are audited in accordance with the largest global food safety protocols.

With operations in 4 countries, over 1,400 clients served and 2,300 audits per year.

The Beginning

Foundation of SBC – Serviço Brasileiro de Certificações by Luiz Henrique Witzler (“Alemão”) and Dr. Cristina Lombardi, to provide official traceability services for the Brazilian government, based on a specific program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply – MAPA, SISBOV, established due to European Union requirements.

Leadership in Brazilian Livestock Farming

Official Brazilian authorities recognized Sbcert’s leadership in the Brazilian market within the SISBOV protocol.

First changes

Retirement of founder Dr. Cristina, and Sergio Ribas taking over the board alongside founder Luiz Henrique Witzler.

New generation

Entry of Thiago Witzler and Matheus Witzler, forming the new board, investing in technology and other accreditations to continually increase the range of services offered.

New Accreditations

Sbcert accredited by Cgcre of INMETRO – National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology, as OCP – Product Certification Body, in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17065 standard (Requirements for Bodies Certifying Products, Processes and Services) for the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA certification, a certification recognized by the GFSI, reaching the Fruits and Vegetables market and being one of the only Brazilian companies to obtain formal accreditation and recognition from GLOBALG.A.P.



We became members of the European Animal Welfare group, Welfare Quality Network, being the only private company to be part of this research and development group in animal welfare and animal production.

International Performance

Accreditation by INN – Instituto Nacional de Normalizacion, Chilean accreditation body as OCP for meat certification for the Chilean market through Ley de Carnes 19.162.

First audits GLOBALG.A.P. IFA on rural properties in Chilean territory.

International Protocols

Sbcert obtained accreditation to work with IFS Global Markets for food and packaging.

We extended our scope of action to the Round Table for Responsible Soy – RTRS protocol, once again being one of the only Brazilian certifiers to obtain this accreditation.

Launch of the Animal Welfare Protocol, aimed at rural properties and slaughterhouse industries.

Clear Moves, Right Choices

Sbcert arrived at a time of change and transformation, with an updated visual identity – SBC is now Sbcert.

Launch of the supplier management platform, Sbcert System. All supplier compliance solutions in one place.

New Partnerships

We became members of the GLOBALG.A.P. community to strengthen links between producers and suppliers, increasing GLOBALG.A.P. certification.

We are part of this global community of the International Fresh Produce Association.

Launch of the PRIMI Protocol, a solution for the traceability of Brazilian leather.

We have received approval from IFS and BRCGS to begin our audits for the following certifications:
