SISBOV is an official system for the individual identification of bovines and buffaloes, created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), with the aim of registering and monitoring rural properties that sell animals to slaughterhouses that export meat to markets that require the individual traceability.
The adoption of the SISBOV protocol brings significant advantages to rural producers, such as the possibility of individually identifying all animals and the opportunity to adopt a culture of data collection on their properties, providing greater security and control for everyone involved in the production process. These benefits add value to products and strengthen the image of producers in the market.
To ensure individual control of animals, it is necessary to identify them individually. Furthermore, for export to the European Union to occur, the property of origin must be on the TRACE list, which lists all properties capable of exporting to the EU.
