The certification is a way of ensuring good practices adopted by properties and reinforcing the company’s commitment to animal welfare, food safety and Brazilian livestock farming. This initiative aims to protect livestock and workers, controlling the occurrence of diseases in livestock and promoting the safety of the food that reaches the consumer’s table.
The certification involves the adoption of many protocols that ensure protection and control of the occurrence of diseases in cattle herds, in addition to promoting animal welfare. In general terms, the objective is to reduce clinical occurrence and limit the transmission of diseases in the herd, preventing the entry of contagious diseases that can be lethal and require mandatory notification.
The biosafety seal was developed in partnership between Embrapa, Boehringer Ingelheim, Brasil GAP and Sbcert.
