PRIMI (Individual Traceability and Indirect Monitoring Program) brings procedures to promote the individual traceability of cattle and the socio-environmental monitoring of indirect suppliers to the meat-packing industries.
In the program, each animal receives a unique number managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, a number which is applied to a tamper-proof and non-transferable earring and button.
Through this identification, data is entered into a digital platform and registered in the BND – National Database.
Only after the animal has been audited and the process validated by the certifier will it be possible to issue the animal’s certificate through the platform, making it possible to carry out complete consultations on the origin of each animal, from the moment of its identification until its slaughter.
Animals can have the following classifications:
IGN – Indirect with Birth Guarantee
IGO12 – Indirect identified up to 12 months
and indirect IGO12+ identified with more than 12 months
